This course introduces the fundamentals of pattern recognition for senior undergraduate students. It emphasizes general principles and techniques of pattern recognition. Topics include Bayes decision theory, parametric and non-parametric classifiers, feature extraction and selection techniques, and artificial neural networks. This course will also discuss recent applications of pattern recognition.
